Abstract
By a micro-manometric method, the respiration of Paramecium calkinsi was found to be sensitive to azide and cyanide. In addition, an enzyme capable of oxidizing ascorbic acid and p-phenylene-diamine in the presence of cytochrome-c and which might, therefore, be designated as cytochrome oxidase was demonstrated.Keywords
