Abstract
Total uptake and incorporation of 3H-thymidine, 3H-thymine, and 3H-deoxyuridine into DNA have been investigated in the apical 3 cm of the primary root of Vicia faba. Evidence has been obtained that endogenous TdR in these roots may be transported either apically or basally; apical movement being greater than movement from the apex towards the base of the root. The results have been discussed with respect to the possible distribution of endogenous pools of thymidine, thymine, and deoxyuridine in the primary root of V. faba.
