Abstract
A study of the causes of sudden natural deaths associated with commercial air travel, during the period February 1979 to January 1982 at the world's busiest international airport (Heathrow, London) was undertaken. Amongst long-distance passengers, fatal pulmonary embolism caused 18 per cent of deaths, 81.8 per cent occurring amongst females.Keywords
