Modifications of the Klein-Nishina formula for the Compton effect are presented which give the energy distribution and the angular distribution of the recoil electrons. Electron distributions have been calculated for photon energies from 10 kev. to 30 Mev. The distributions of the electrons produced by Co60 γ rays have been determined.
