Abstract
A method of isolating Dictyosteliaceae from soil is described and the edibility of different strains of bacteria and the effect of such nutrients on the formation of fruiting bodies by these organisms is discussed. D. mucoroides and an unidentified Dictyostelium sp. are commonly present in the soils of Britain; D. giganteum is also described. Keywords
