Plasma Vortices in the Coaxial Plasma Accelerator

Abstract

Considerations of conservation of mass and momentum flow in the plasma coaxial accelerator make it apparent that plasma eddies or vortices should be produced behind the current sheet. Measurements of axial and radial electric fields of radial current density and ion flow density, show experimentally that these vortices are present.
