Abstract
In slow atomic collisions there appear formal long‐range interactions between axis‐coupled (BO) states due to asymptotic Coriolis interactions, which behave as . These interactions have been considered by a number of workers. In this paper is it shown that these long‐range interactions are usually of trivial significance and can be “ignored.” An error in the asymptotic correlation proposed earlier by us is corrected.
