Abstract
Fabric hand was assessed for 145 fabrics by several methods used in the United States and Japan. A quantitative method using a nozzle, developed in the United States, was tested. Several physical properties related to fabric hand were evaluated using standard procedures. A subjective hand measurement was recorded by a team of experts in the United States to determine the relative hand of these fabrics as com pared to a standard sample. Techniques developed by Kawabata and his group were performed on the same samples in Japan. Correlations between these methods were examined. Keywords
