Anthracene, rhodamine B and fluoresein, which produce blue, red, and green fluorescent colors, respectively, have been successfully used for marking adult specimens of A. quadrimaculatus in connection with studies of activities and life cycle. The dyes were applied as an aerosol or as a dust mixed with gum arabic.
