Abstract
The response of a retarding-field-type Auger analyser is derived for periodically varying beam currents. Based on this analysis a blanking circuit suitable for use with such an analyser and resistively heated samples is described. This arrangement permits detection of Auger spectra from a fixed point on the specimen surface. Keywords
