Critical evaluation of continuous monitors for toluene diisocyanate

Abstract
Performance of continuous area and personal monitors used in measuring concentrations of TDI [toluene diisocyanate] in industrial environments were evaluated. Studies consisted of dynamic calibrations, effect of humidity and temperature on measurements and interferences due to commonly encountered contaminants in a TDI manufacturing plant. Response and resolution of personal monitor for short-term fluctuations of TDI concentration in time and space were also reported.
