Occurrence of a Minimum in the Electrical Resistivity of Chromium Alloys at Low Temperature

Abstract
Electrical resistivity as a function of temperature between 4.2 and 70.0°K has been determined for binary chromium alloys containing 0.4, 0.8, 1.7, and 2.6 at. % nickel, 0.4, 1.2, 1.7, 4.4, 6.2, and 8.0 at. % cobalt, and 2.1 and 4.0 at. % manganese. The chromium‐cobalt alloys with 4.4, 6.2, and 8.0 at. % cobalt exhibit a minimum in the resistivity vs temperature plot at low temperatures. A similar minimum occurs also for 0.4 and 0.8 at. % nickel‐chromium alloys, but not in any of the chromium‐manganese samples.
