Raman Spectrum of Neptunium Hexafluoride

Abstract
The three Raman active fundamentals of NpF6 have been observed at 654 (ν1) , 535 (ν2) , and 208 cm−15) for the gas and at 651 (ν1) p , 524 (ν2) dp , and 218 cm−15) dp, for the liquid. The values observed for the gaseous sample were within 7 cm−1 of the values calculated by Malm, Weinstock, and Claassen on the basis of infrared combination bands. Spectra were obtained through the use of a 6328‐Å He–Ne laser‐excited, photoelectric recording Raman spectrophotometer.
