Observations on Reproduction and Development in Cockroaches

Abstract

Although various information has been published previously on reproduction and development in the common species of cockroaches, similar data on less common cockroaches are comparatively meager. During the last few years we have accumulated considerable miscellaneous biological information on seventeen species of cockroaches. This material has been reduced to a number of mean values which are presented hereinafter with estimates of their variability. Although simultaneous comparisons of our data with those of other workers would be desirable, economy of space precludes our increasing the tabular material by including comparative values from the literature.
