The insect host range of Aspergillus flavus has been extended to include 6 more genera of the Lepidoptera. Six of 20 representative spp. of Aspergilli were capable of producing a lethal infection in Platysamia cecropia; of 8 other genera tried, only Metarrhizium and Fonsecaea were infective to the insect.
