Stero-bile Acids and Bile Sterols*

Abstract
Cholesterol-4-C14 was injected intraperitoneally into toads, and 3[alpha], 7[alpha], 12[alpha] -trihydroxy-5[beta]-cholestanoic acid-4-C14, 5[beta]-cholestane-3[alpha], 7[alpha], 12[alpha], 27-tetrol-4C14 and 5[alpha]-cholestane-3[alpha], 7[alpha], 12[alpha], 26 tetrol-4-C14 were isolated from the bile. No evidence of the formation from cholesterol of trihydroxybufosterocholenic and trihydroxycoprostenic acids, which are the main bile acids of toad bile, was obtained.
