Abstract
A method is descr. for estimating catalase activity by the amt. of heat liberated, the latter being obtained from the max.-temp. recorded by a clinical thermometer. For example,0.01 ml. of human blood gives a rise of about 12[degree] C , corresponding to the liberation of 14 g. of H2O2 by each ml. of blood. The time course of the liberation of heat agrees favorably with the liberation of O2 and the disappearance of H2O2.
