Optical low coherence reflectometry with 1.9 μm spatial resolution

Abstract
An optical low coherence reflectometer is presented which uses an all-fibre Michelson interferometer with the fluorescence light of a Ti:Al2O3 crystal as a light source. The broad spectrum of the fluorescence allows a maximal spatial resolution of 1.9 μm to be reached, with a dynamic range of 80 dB.
