Abstract
With slight modifications, conventional assay procedures for K+, Na+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Cl, NO3, H2PO4, fructose and fructose-yielding saccharides, and glucose were applicable to the extract of Phaseolus pulvini. About 10 ml of a hot-water extract from about 30 mg fresh weight of the pulvini was sufficient for separate measurement of the ions and saccharides named above.
