Abstract
The frequent association of congenital hypothyroidism with prolonged neonatal jaundice (with indirect hyperbilirubinemia) suggests an impairment of the glucuronide conjugating mechanism. Glucuronyl transferase activity was measured in neonatal mice experimentally rendered hypothyroid. No significant differences in enzymatic activity were noted between treated and control animals. Keywords
