Abstract
The digestive tract of the cockroach, Blaberus craniifer Burmeister, contains amylase, α- and β-glucosidases, β-fructofuranosidase, α- and β-galactosidases, but no cellulase. The most active site of hydrolytic action is the midgut, followed by the foregut, hindgut, salivary gland tissue, and Malpighian tubules.
