Grounded Theory: Evolving Methods

Abstract
Methodological issues raised by recent attempts to refine the process of generating grounded theory are examined in this article. First, the historical context of grounded theory method is reviewed, then several issues of importance to grounded theory methodologists are discussed. Finally, dimensional analysis, described by Schatzman in 1991 as a method for the generation of grounded theory, is proposed.
