Reproductive Risk Factors for Mucinous and Non-Mucinous Epithelail Ovarian Cancer

Abstract
We evaluated reproductive risk factors for mucinous and nonmucinous tumors in a population-based case-control study of epithelial ovarian cancer among women ages 20–79 years. We observed a reduction in risk of tumors of both types in association with one or more full-term pregnancies and with use of oral contraceptives for 5 or more years. While findings of some previous studies support the hypothesis that certain aspects of a woman's reproductive life have a different impact on the risk of these subtypes of ovarian epithelial cancer, our data suggest that this issue is not yet resolved.
