Abstract
100 uremic patients were studied prior to renal transplantation with regard to serum cytomegalovirus (CMV) antibody using both complement-fixing and virus-neutralizing techniques. CMV antibody was demonstrated in 72, a rate corresponding to what might be expected in non-uremics. Among possible predisposing factors, only blood transfusions appeared to be related to CMV seropositivity. Keywords
