Mean Lives of Some Doubly Excited Levels in Lithium I

Abstract
Three doubly excited levels in Li I produced upon passage of 56-keV Li7 ions through a thin carbon foil have been identified. Their mean lives were measured using the beamfoil technique with the results given below: {τ(1s2p2 P4)=(6.4±0.3)×109 sec,}{τ(1s2s3s S4)=(9.7±0.7)×109 sec,}{τ(1s2s3d D4)=(4.5±0.4)×109 sec.}
