An in vitro Analysis of the Immune Capabilities of Mice Treated with Immunosuppressive Drugs

Abstract
Nude mice were used to test the T cell function of mice treated with immunosuppressive drugs. It was found that spleen cells from mice treated with procarbazine (600 mg/kg) or cyclophosphamide (300 mg/kg): (1) are not capable of responding to sheep red cells (SRC) in vitro; (2) if mixed with nude spleen cells in a ratio of 1:10 or 1:100, do restore the response of nude spleen cells. It is concluded that spleen cells from mice treated with these immunosuppressive drugs are still able to supply the T cell function for the primary response in vitro.
