Lamb-Shift Measurement for then=2State of HydrogenicO16

Abstract
A motional electric-field quenching technique has been employed to measure the Lamb shift (S) in the n=2 state of O7+. The result is S=2202.7±11.0 GHz, in agreement with the recent quantum-electrodynamic calculation of S=2205.17±1.56 GHz.
