Abstract
A brief review of the literature was presented with special reference to work of Gerard and Sugar suggesting spinal cord regeneration in the rat. By isolating a cut end of the cat''s spinal cord in an inverted gall bladder filled with blood, the theoretically ideal conditions were set up to stimulate regeneration. No evidence of regeneration was seen when the eleven cats'' spinal cords were studied grossly and microscopically. Keywords
