Abstract
[longdash]The discussion is based on material reared by Dampf in Mexico in 1925 and on observations and additional material obtained in Guatemala in 1926. The locust is a scourge of agriculture from Argentina to the Gulf Coast of Mexico. Four dipterous parasites are mentioned. Oedematocera dampfi Aldrich is very common in Mexico and Central America. Sarcophaga caridei Brethes (of which S. angustifrons Ald. is a synonym) ranges from the southwestern part of the U. S. A. to Argentina. Sarcophaga sternodontis Tns. has about the same range, but is perhaps not always a parasite, and has many hosts, a list being given. Brachycoma acridiorum Weyenb. of Argentina has been much misunderstood, but is apparently not a Sarcophaga.
