Abstract
We propose a new model for the c(2×2) structure observed in the adsorption of K on the Au(110) surface. The equilibrium geometry and structural properties are predicted from first-principles total-energy calculations. The results indicate that our model has a lower energy than a previously proposed model. Keywords
