Abstract
By measuring proton spin—lattice relaxation in mixtures of benzene and acetone with their respective perdeuterated analogs the intra‐ and intermolecular contributions to the relaxation have been separated. The correlation time for the molecular motion responsible for the intramolecular relaxation is obtained and discussed. With regards to the intermolecular contribution to the relaxation, it is pointed out that in some cases the fluctuations in the local field arising from the neighboring molecules are mainly due to the reorientational motions. Keywords
