Processing and analysis of polycrystalline thin-film solar cells made from uniform single phase materials

Abstract
This paper presents processes for producing uniform single phase polycrystalline films of Cu(InGa)Se2 and CdTe and the analysis of the resulting films and solar cell devices. The first two sections discuss Cu(InGa)Se2 cells prepared by the selenization of Cu‐In‐Ga films and of elemental evaporation. The third section describes a CdCl2 vapor treatment of CdTe that results in uniform large grain films with reduced S diffusion and reproducible performance.
