Abstract
In an attempt to determine the intercepts of the () and () Regge trajectories from total cross-section data, it is found that significant deviations from SU(3) symmetry have to be considered. These deviations are accounted for by assuming that the Pomeranchuk-Regge residue has a small octet component apart from the usual SU(3)-singlet term.
