Abstract
Hemolyzed red blood cells possess anti-heparin activity that can correct the prolonged thrombin time and impaired prothrombin consumption of heparinized blood. Such hemolysates can be made easily and stored frozen indefinitely. Therefore, they are useful as a reagent to detect heparinemia and to permit the evaluation of plasma clotting factor activities in heparinized blood. Keywords
