Abstract
The author discusses the probability that the Golgi apparatus as ordinarily seen is largely artefact. Its form, physical character, chemical nature, and possible functions are likewise discussed. The apparatus is deemed more or less artefact, but probably indicates something of the activity of the cell. The living cell posseses as complex a set of interfaces, oriented catalysts, molecular chains, and reaction vessels as the organs. Keywords
