Abstract
The author studied the supernumerary frontal sinuses in 300 skulls of adults (600 pieces), and reached the following conclusions of practical importance Supernumerary frontal sinuses, including very small cavities, are found in 21%. The sinuses are found behind the pirncipal frontal sinus, rarely lateral to it. In 2 subjects the supernumerary frontal sinuses lay between the 2 principal sinuses. This rare anomaly developed as a result of the penetration of the anterior ethmoidal cells in the intersinus septum. Supernumerary frontal sinuses can pneumatize the lesser wing of the sphenoid bone reaching the middle cranial fossa. Among the cavities on the root of the orbit portions of compact bone can exist.
