Mycoplasma pneumoniae Meningoencephalitis and Transverse Myelitis in Association with Low Cerebrospinal Fluid Glucose

Abstract
A patient with M. pneumoniae meningoencephalitis and transverse myelitis is reported. Serum and CSF serological studies were indicative of recent infection by this organism, establishing it more directly as the responsible pathogen. This case suggests the ability of M. pneumoniae to produce an abnormally low CSF glucose.
