Some techniques of transmission Lorentz microscopy

Abstract
Magnetic domain structure is usually observed in the electron microscope by means of either Fresnel or Foucault microscopy. In this paper, three electron optical modes of operation are described which improve the contrast in Foucault microscopy. In addition, a new way of forming contrast is described whereby amplitude contrast is set up at the domain wall regions. Finally it is pointed out that, in a single crystal specimen, the direction of a domain wall relative to the crystallographic axes may conveniently be determined by the technique of multiple dark field imaging.
