Abstract
The integrated absorption intensities of the 4, 0 to 11, 0 bands of the Schumann—Runge system of 16O2 and 18O2 were measured at atmospheric pressure and compared with the Franck—Condon factors for these bands, calculated using a Morse potential and simple anharmonicity corrections. Bands of 16O2 are about 1.5 times more intense than corresponding bands of 18O2, while the calculated Franck—Condon factors of 16O2 are 2 to 4 times as large as those for 18O2.
