Guinea pigs were remarkably resistant to alloxan. Normal, scorbutic, and scorbutic animals given chloretone failed to develop hyperglycemia or glucosuria when alloxan in doses of 100 to 1,000 mg./kg. was administered. Intracardial doses from 150 to 350 mg./kg. failed to produce the diabetic state.
