Abstract
The techniques of the renormalization group and the epsilon -expansion are used to discuss static critical effects near a structural phase transition. In the case of the transition in strontium titanate the theory suggests that the static critical exponents are those of the classical isotropic Heisenberg antiferromagnet. Keywords
