Abstract
The switching energy of a saturable absorber optical gate is reduced by optimisation of its MQW (multiple quantum well) thickness. Using the refined optical gate, the repetition frequency of switching is improved, and successful error-free 10 Gbit/s all-optical discrimination is demonstrated. Keywords
