AN IMPROVED METHOD FOR THE SCHULTZ CHOLESTEROL TEST

Abstract

Procedures are described for a modification of the Schultz histochemical adaptation of the Burchard-Liebermann test for cholesterol and its esters. This modified technique, prevents precipitation of ferric ammonium sulfate during incubation, prevents bubble formation during the application of acetic-sulfuric acid, and provides for a more uniform and intense color development.
