The Effect of Adrenaline on Ketosis in Phloridzinised and Normal Rats

Abstract
Administration of adrenaline to phloridzinised rats on a protein-fat diet and to normal rats on a fat diet temporarily increased the excretion of acetone bodies. Addition of NaHCO3 to the protein-fat diet did not prevent this effect of adrenaline. In normal rats fed on a protein-fat diet or on a standard diet containing carbohydrates no rise in acetone body excretion was observed after adrenaline.
