Abstract
Oxidation of simple alcohols by K2FeO4 is shown to follow a mixed order rate equation. The rate equation shows three terms, the first two terms being first order and second order in concentration of K2FeO4, respectively. The third term contains the conditional rate constant that depends on the concentration of the substrate (alcohol). This third term will also be shown to be first order dependent on K2FeO4 concentration. Keywords
