Effect of Thiouracil on Growing Swine.

Abstract

Swine were pair-fed for 28 days on rations which were identical except for the addition of 0.2% thiouracil to the ration of the test animals. The test animals gained 2.1 lbs., the controls gained 1.4 lbs. / day. Inspection indicated that the test animals had grown slowly, but had become excessively fat.
