In three separate experiments it was not possible to prevent the photoperiodic testicular response in the White-crowned Sparrow. Zono-trichia leucophrys gambelii. by injection of prolactin. Since these results fail to confirm earlier experiments, current hypotheses concerning the role of prolactin in refractoriness to photoperiodic stimulation must be re-examined.
