Abstract
Irradiation to the rat''s salivary glands with 480-3500 r in a single dose, caused increasingly marked degrees of inflammation and degeneration. With fractionated doses of 4500-8000 r produced more severe inflammation and degeneration. No irreversible histologic changes could be demonstrated. The minor structural alterations were not compatible with the known physiologic alterations.
