Bleeding Tendency in Uremia

Abstract

In 12 patients with azotemia and a bleeding tendency, abnormalities in blood platelets were frequently encountered. They were normal or slightly reduced in number and in ability to produce clot retraction. Four patients showed deficiency in 2 or more of the plasma factors prothrombin, proconvertin, proaccelerin or PTC.
