An attempt has been made to develop a test for measuring empathic ability. This was done by obtaining ratings, on a 5 point scale, of each of 6 characteristics. Each individual rated himself; rated another; rated the other as he believed the other would rate himself; and rated himself as he believed the other would rate him.
